I grew up in Southeast Asia, studied literature at the University of La Verne, and have always pursued my dream of being a writer. I converted to Orthodox Christianity in 2006 and am politically progressive. My play, Telegonos, will be published by Darkly Bright Press in May of 2021.

A book is a world we enter through a door of words. In this blog, I hope to explore a few of the worlds I have visited, from ancient classics to timely modern texts, from multi-cultural literature to fresh perspectives on familiar works.

If you’re looking for something on the lighter side, I will shortly launch the Captain Scrap Mettle Podcast. So stay tuned!

I hope you’ll join me and feel free to share your insights, but most of I hope you’ll want to curl up with a good book after spending time here. Reading is a joy, and if this site encourages you to read, my time will have been well spent.
